Policies
Booking, deposit & cancellation.
The plain-language rules for booking with Rosie, so there are no surprises on either side.
Last updated:
In short: book by call or text, brides hold their date with a $150 deposit, and please give at least 24hours’ notice if your plans change. Rosie is a one-person studio, so every appointment slot is time she has set aside just for you.
How booking works
All appointments are booked directly with Rosie by calling or texting (917) 326-0303. There is no online booking, and nothing is paid through this website.
When you book, Rosie will ask for your name, your phone number, the service you want and the date and time. Brides are also asked for their wedding date so the trial and wedding-day tan can be timed correctly. The studio is a private space in Midwood, Brooklyn (NY 11229); the exact address is shared when your appointment is confirmed.
An appointment is confirmed once Rosie has replied to confirm the time. You may receive a reminder by text before your visit.
Bridal deposits
- A $150 depositholds a bride’s wedding date. Until the deposit is received, the date is not reserved.
- Ask Rosie when you book how the deposit is credited toward your bridal package.
- If you cancel or reschedule with at least 24hours’ notice, the deposit is not forfeited. Rosie will talk you through moving it to a new date.
- If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, the deposit is forfeited.
Bridal packages and family plans are custom quotes. See bridal packages for what is included.
Cancelling or rescheduling
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment by calling or texting (917) 326-0303. A text is fine and gives you a written record.
Life happens, including illness and family emergencies. If something comes up at the last minute, tell Rosie as soon as you can. Outside of the bridal deposit rule above, late changes are handled case by case.
If Rosie ever needs to reschedule you, she will contact you as early as possible and work with you to find a new time, and sort out any deposit you paid with you directly.
Running late
Please text if you are running late. Rosie will always try to fit you in, but she won’t rush a tan and risk the result, so a long delay may mean finding a new time.
No-shows
Missing an appointment without any notice counts as a cancellation inside 24 hours. For brides, the deposit is forfeited.
Mobile visits & travel
- Mobile and on-location visits need a minimum of 5 people.
- Every mobile visit is quoted individuallybased on group size, location and timing. You’ll get the quote before anything is booked.
- Rosie serves Brooklyn and, by appointment, Deal, NJ and the surrounding Jersey Shore, especially in summer.
More detail is on the mobile spray tan page.
Arriving prepared
A great tan starts with prep. Exfoliate and shave about 24 hours before. On the day, arrive with clean, dry skin: no lotion, deodorant, perfume or makeup. Wear loose, dark clothing.
The solution contains DHA, which can stain light fabric, clothing and bags until your first rinse, so dress for it. See the terms of service for more.
Tell Rosie before your appointmentabout any allergies, skin conditions, medications that affect your skin, or pregnancy, and ask her about a patch test if you’re unsure. If you have a medical question, please check with your doctor or dermatologist first. The full prep list is on the FAQ.
Children & minors
If you’re booking for someone under 18, for a bat mitzvah, prom or family simcha, a parent or legal guardian should make the booking. Ask Rosie when you call whether a parent needs to stay for the appointment.
Shabbat & Yom Tov schedule
Rosie is shomer Shabbat. The studio is open Sunday to Thursday, 9 AM to 8 PM, and Friday from 9 AM until one hour before sunset. It is closed on Shabbat and on Jewish holidays.
Around Yom Tov, available days are fewer and fill quickly. Book early if you need a tan for a simcha near a holiday. For a Sunday wedding, the wedding-day tan usually goes on Friday morning.
Payment
No payment is taken on this website. Ask Rosie which payment methods she accepts when you book, including how to pay a bridal deposit. Current prices are listed on the services page.
Changes to this policy
Rosie may update this policy from time to time. The version that applies is the one posted here when you book. The date at the top shows the last update. See also the terms of service and privacy policy.
